Review on πŸ“» Compact and Convenient: Kaito KA208 Super Mini AM/FM Radio with LCD Digital Display for Precise Tuning by Pamela Warfield

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Nice radio best for portable audio and video

I don't often write Revain reviews. However, I thought I would in this case because some of the reviews on here seem so wrong. I wanted a radio that was portable enough to take with me on business trips and that doubled as an alarm clock. (I didn't want to bother: hotel alarms, wake-up calls, whether my phone is charged, etc.) This radio ticks all the boxes perfectly. It's relatively cheap, has an alarm function and doesn't weigh too much. For some reason radios like this are hard to come by these days. Anyway, given some of the feedback here, I wasn't sure if this radio would fit in the class, but it's up to the task. Here's my take: This radio is tiny, the buttons require a firm press (so you don't accidentally hit them while traveling), and it's not too difficult to use. The alarm clock only seems to turn on the FM radio, but I'm fine with that. The sound from the tiny speaker isn't bad, so there won't be any problems when speaking. The setting is a bit unusual, you turn the wheel and the clock display shows the selected frequency. There seems to be some delay between turning it on and looking at the frequency - but that's not a problem - it's just different on some radios. I don't know what anyone says in the reviews about turning AM on and off. Mine doesn't - so maybe that person is just unlucky. And - mine was delivered very quickly. All in all - I'm very satisfied - for $13 (shipping included) you get a small, efficient radio. As mentioned, what they actually deliver doesn't have the blue finish shown in the photo here (in fact everything is silver grey). In fact, it's much nicer in practice!
