Review on St. Ives Renewing Collagen & Elastin Moisturizer, 10 oz (Set of 2) by Amanda Rodriguez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Really great and simple moisturizer. Period.

Now in my 40's I tend to use very expensive products hoping to make a big difference. (The jury is still out on that logic.) For example, I once calculated how many products I used at night, and the total cost of those products was over $800. What kind of. But other than that, when the weather changes or my skin gets incredibly dry for some reason, I hate putting on 3-5 times more moisturizer than I need to feel hydrated because it's a waste of money. Second, after years of these skincare regimens, I also wanted an option that didn't require me to schedule a 15-minute twice-daily post-wash facial ritual—something simpler and quicker. . , but just as hydrating, too, without the added benefits of rejuvenation, repair, etc. That's 30 minutes out of every skincare day. Ive's Timeless Skin Collagen Elastin Moisturizer is just what you need. I consider this and 12 ounces of Thayer's Rose Petal Witch Hazel Alcohol Free with Aloe Vera on my bathroom countertop to be a "quick version" of skincare where my main goals are simply to keep skin clear and hydrated. I've used Thayer on and off my whole life so it's always just a good astringent to have on hand. But I have to say that I am very happy with this St. Ives. It's very effective at moisturizing your face and feels quite creamy/greasy for about a minute before it's all absorbed right into your skin. And then this is the ideal amount of moisture. It's funny how the same thing happens no matter how much or how little I use; everything is absorbed! Also, I rub whatever's left on my hands with my hands and hands—and they're the softest ever. :) So this product will not replace La Mer or any other intense moisturizer. But it's fantastic for its simple purpose of moisturizing the skin. I wish it was available as a pump, but I use a spoon to get enough of it, just smear it on my face/neck and go, "Aaah." But note my skin is so dry these days that after washing my face I have about 35 seconds before I feel like I'm going to throw up when I smile. By this point I had wiped my face with witch hazel and held a decent drop of this product in my hands, ready to save the day in just 45 seconds instead of the 15 minutes it took to wash my face. I strongly recommend trying it out. And, my god, it's so economical too!
