Review on Bingfu Dual Band VHF UHF Ham Radio Magnetic Base Antenna for Kenwood Wouxun BaoFeng BF-F8HP UV-5R UV-82 BF-888S Walkie Talkie by Floe Rankin

Only $10 but not worth it.

I kind of came here expecting a result but I was still disappointed. The antenna came with a cracked plastic base and I attached it to the fridge to see what condition the magnet was in and it turned out to be fine. When I tried to install it on my truck it became clear that I couldn't drive at any speed with this antenna just using a magnet. onto the bed of a truck, but that defeats the purpose of being a magnet. It connected fine to my HT and I was able to connect to a few local repeaters nearby, but I was hoping to use it for APRS and it doesn't work with any of the local digipeaters or outlets in the area (unless because, I parked in the driveway under the antenna for the Igate I have). I mean this is a $10 antenna so you really do get what you pay for. I would spend an additional $30 for a diamond antenna.

Pros
  • Good stuff
Cons
  • Expensive
