I have been using this type of thermometer for several years when smoking and grilling poultry, meat and fish. I am testing this thermometer against other similar thermometers that I already own. temperatures match. So I have no problems with the functions. What I love about this thermometer is that this thermometer has a wired remote sensor so I can take the temperature without opening the smoke or grill. My other thermometers don't have this feature. This is a very convenient device for smoking and grilling.
