I bought these for myself as a fairly small adult (5ft 115lbs and about a child size L/XL) and they fit very well. They also fit my 11 year old daughter and were a little big for my 9 year old (who is about the size of an average 7 year old). in the "Winter" class. I bought them to wear under a motorcycle helmet in cold weather so I didn't necessarily need a thick helmet. Unless you live in the south, where it never dips below freezing in winter, they probably aren't winter clothing choices. However, they would be a good layering option under some of the fleece versions you can find in stores and online as they wick moisture well to stay drier.
