Review on JOINER Spherical Diamond Grinding Mounted by Charles Lewellen

This grinding ball worked very well. Despite the advertised weight of only 12.3 oz, it actually weighs 580 g / 19.6 oz. Regardless, it works great - it's purely spherical and well balanced. I bought it to create puddles of juice on cutting boards. Sure, a router would be your best bet, but I didn't want to invest in all that hardware for a small project. However, with a little planning/preparation (and many years of experience with this type of thing), the results were amazing. A little lesson for a beginner with such an object: in a horizontal position (sanding along the "equator" ) it works well, but in a vertical position very badly (I'm trying to drill into a block with a drill - it sticks horribly at the "South Pole")). On these projects, most of the work was done in a "horizontal" position using a hand drill and lapping in a "vertical" drill to ensure consistent depth. oversized; I knocked them down with a small hammer to ensure a flat surface (eliminating the round notches).
