It's a good thermometer for the freezer or refrigerator. At first I was disappointed when the display on one of the two units we received started to go in and out. Replacing the battery requires that you open up the back cover by removing four very small screws. I had the necessary small screwdriver, but I wouldn't be surprised if many people don't. So I pushed the battery back in place and then used a flat edge screwdrivers to bend the tin a little more at the edge to better hold the battery. Works fine now.
