Shoe style is ideal for wearing in the water and protecting against small rocks. Sandals are always a pain because the kids always stop to pull out small pebbles. Seems to drain well. Easy to turn on and off. A lightweight. The problem is that the hardware that allows you to quickly tighten the laces broke when my son tried the shoes on for the first time - 1 minute after unboxing. He pulled on the laces to tighten them and they broke. This happened recently, I haven't tried to contact the seller yet. This is the kind of hardware that cannot be replaced by home repairs, and he couldn't even wear a shoe without a broken piece. I hope this won't be a big problem. I'll update when I find out.
