This is definitely not an "official US compass", it is poorly made and a cheap fake masquerading as genuine. The markings on the compass initially make it appear to be a fake. It also advertises the presence of tritium lighting. There really is no lighting. Tritium is not an isotope that is charged by the sun or light. The compass dial is plastic and cheap plastic. The dial is also plastic and cheap plastic. DON'T BUY THIS SHIT. DON'T BELIEVE IT BY READING MAPS. Get CMMG! It's expensive, but it's real.
