So my little dog has a serious dental disease. I'm going to brush her teeth, but my vet wants to charge $365 plus the cost of possibly removing some teeth, which could get me closer to $1,000. I don't have that much money now. Eventually I will brush her teeth, but in the meantime I've purchased plaque removers, brush her teeth regularly, and remove the brown plaque from her teeth myself. I've heard you shouldn't do this yourself as the bacteria can go straight into their bloodstream and make them sick. Well I think if you are really careful and wipe off any leftover scales with a cotton swab instead of letting her swallow them it shouldn't be a problem. This is the method I use. Now I have many products in my arsenal and I absolutely do not go near her mouth until I have used these products first because you need the plaque to be soft before you start scratching. First I put Petrident in her water, then I brush her teeth at least 3-4 times a week and finally I spray her mouth with a plaque 2 times a day. Then when I'm ready to scrape off the brown stuff, it just falls off. A professional product like this makes the job easier. It's easy to use and I can really cum in her mouth. The product is of good quality and is very well made. I'm just trying to do my best until I can get my dog to the dentist and this product has helped us build bridges until then.
