Maxell is probably the last known reputable company still making cassettes (or at least putting their name on the cassette case). If you want to record speech or music, they work perfectly. No player made today will be able to take advantage of Type 2, 3 or 4 tape, so you won't be missing out if you have a new cassette player. My player is 40 years old so I can say it sounds very good with Dolby B enabled, better than you might expect. Maxell is still releasing a great sounding Type 1 tape in 2021. The bands are covered by a warranty that validates the product. With Dolby, the music quality is good. The band is uniform so setting up the player will be easy. Screws to allow you to access the tape and remove it if necessary. One tape even had plastic in the case that I had to remove. Not the classic gray suitcase I associate with Maxell. Sonically it does everything well. I may seem a little depressed because this is my only choice. Not a bad option but I would like to buy a Maxell type 2 tape because it sounds a little better on the right player. It's a heck of a lot better than Onn cassettes. It's the finest cartridge ever made, and that's what matters. which I associate with maxell. Sonically it does everything well.
