What a wonderful project and experience for my family made very easy with this kit. We treated four trees and received over 15 gallons of fluid in one week. For collection we used jugs of milk and juice. I simply drilled a hole in the lid of the jar and inserted a plastic tube to collect it. Although we put the bins on the ground we had no problems with bugs or deer. I bought a 10 pack as it wasn't much more expensive but a smaller set would be fine. Maybe we'll gossip our friends next season. As a result, after boiling, it turned out about a liter of syrup. The children videotaped the whole process and will be showing it in science class. No problems inserting or removing the plastic spikes, they seem pretty solid. When the connection is made, simply wash the spikes and tubes with water and dish soap for reuse. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to dip into maple sugar.
