I bought this because I have cats that scratch the fabric on my couch from time to time. I've heard of using a felting needle but found it to be a cheaper alternative. Unfortunately, I didn't understand that for this needle to work, it needs to be pulled through and not just pricked with the pointed end of the needle. I ended up using it by inserting the needle in one place and then piercing it to come back in another and then pulling it out. This worked well, but took a while. I can see this being great for clothing that's snagged, but if you want to fix furniture use a 38 star felting needle.
