I actually bought two of these different models (one with a hood, the other without). The material is very warm and cozy without being too soft (I mean the plush pillow). In general, the seams are sewn well, I hope they will last at least a couple of years. My daughter had a fleece of a similar material that she wore regularly that retained its color and softness as she grew for two years, but now it's time for the necessary resizing.
