I have this to cover the seat of my work chair so cats don't ruin it (hair, lint, scratches). The lid keeps cats out well and I can easily brush most of the dirt off with a rag. It's very stretchy but thin - I bought it knowing that. I think these are the reasons why the seat cover keeps slipping off even when tied. The shackles loosen and the thing is removed immediately. You constantly have to stretch your back across the seat, and dozens of times in a workday (8-9 hours). Ties seem to wear out because I keep tying them. I wish I didn't have to deal with it like that! The part that goes through the back of the chair is perfect and stays in place. I'll keep using it until we get back to the office as it keeps cats from scratching the seat, but then I'll probably throw it away because it can no longer be used on other chairs as it keeps coming loose.
