Review on 🍳 Meidong Egg Rings - Pack of 4 (4-inch) by George Hersey

These egg rings are well made and each individually wrapped. The handle folds into a ring for easy storage. You can see in the photos that I placed them on my 12" carbon steel lodge pan to ensure there was room for two. cook until almost done, then remove the rings and fold the fallen egg onto itself. Everything was fine and the eggs turned out perfect. So what happened? Defective product? no I cleaned the cottage pan and then placed a spirit level on the cooking surface. Turns out the cooktop surface of the 12-inch carbon steel Lodge pan isn't flat edge-to-edge. The surface of the hob is curved/curves down as it moves from the center to the side walls. That's why the eggs ran under the rings. I used the rings in another pan (slightly smaller) that is shallow and doesn't leak eggs underneath. They are non-stick, well made and come with an oil/heating brush. I highly recommend them even though they are made in China. I bought 4 packs of 4 inch rings.
