Charcoal toothpaste from the USA!

Charcoal - a novelty in the world of toothpastes. Instead of tiny bits of sand, this paste uses microscopic grains of charcoal (made from sustainable bamboo) as the abrasive. There's something cute about using something as dirty as charcoal to brush your teeth and something as dark to whiten your teeth. The taste is pleasant but not as strong as I expected. Although it tastes more like charcoal. This toothpaste also contains coconut oil, which is believed to draw stains and toxins out of teeth, but I'm not sure how scientific that claim is. This toothpaste does not contain fluoride, which is known to do wonders for your teeth. and gave me a pause before I thought about it. If you use municipal water in your household and live in the US, chances are your water is fluoridated and you don't need extra toothpaste. Does this affect the effectiveness of the toothpaste? I'm not sure but it seems to be working well, my teeth look and feel clean. A 4 ounce tube seems to last about a month if brushed twice a day. The ingredient list has several long chemical names, but each of them is explained in parentheses, but some of those names are still intimidating. For example, "Cocamidopropyl Betaine" is referred to as "detergent". So who knows? Additionally, since it's made of charcoal, it can make a mess when you spit it out. FYI, you must flush your sink after each use! Things this toothpaste is free of: * Artificial flavors and sweeteners * Color * Fluoride * Sulfates * Micropearls * Parabens * Triclosan * Dairy * Gluten PROS: + Nice mint flavor (not too strong) + Looks cool (BLACK toothpaste!) + Natural ingredients + Made in the USA + Tube is perfect for dispensing toothpaste, nothing sticks to the top! The mint flavor could be stronger. OVERALL RATING: A-
