I thought they were less opaque for a transparent effect but the colors are quite vibrant. For these nails I glued extensions, used a dehydrator, primer, base coat and nude on the nail to hide imperfections. I then applied green to the tips, blue in the middle and purple on top, using a small brush to pick up the glitter and apply it to the nail. I then sprayed on another clear base coat and spread lightly before drying and starting with a clear poly gel and clear top coat. They turned out better than I expected and the brilliance is out of this world. I get compliments from 10 feet away. The jars seem small but I will be able to use them a few more times as a small amount will remain on the nail. Helpful Tip: Apply more glitter. Apply a second layer of glitter after the base coat. The base coat creates a tacky surface for glitter to adhere to. This gives you even more shine and the nail bed is not visible.
