I don't know why I had the opportunity to rate the sound quality of this unit. It's just a video adapter. As far as I know the port it is plugged into is only a video port - no sound can pass through. The HDMI cable that plugs into the other end can play sound, but it's useless with that sound. I've only used it a few times anyway, but I like it; Build quality appears to be good. In addition, the plugs remain tight and ensure good contact. The picture quality is excellent. I have no complaints and have been connecting electronic components for over 50 years. (I usually find something to complain about. But not here.)
