Let me start by saying that I had no intention of using these forks for Thanksgiving dinner. For holidays and other formal occasions, you need large, heavy tools over 8 inches in size that can be mistaken for cutting forks. Instead, these Tramontina accessories were bought for family outings and other outdoor activities and are perfect. Yes, they are lightweight (about 30% smaller than a regular table fork), which is made possible by their shorter length (7 inches) and concave design along the back of the handles (see photos next to more expensive WMF forks). They will understand when you push them beyond their physical limits. Finally, I should mention that the teeth are parallel to each other, which maximizes their utility by giving you a wide range of points to choose from. Many of today's designer forks prioritize form over function by narrowing the tines forward, thereby reducing their contact area. I am grateful to the manufacturer for going for a more traditional layout. An excellent product considering how well Tramontina has balanced design and value. Highly recommended!
