Review on Stay Tuned Anywhere with the RCA Portable Armband Digital AM/FM Radio (RP312) by Paarvin Freedman

I love this little sports radio

I like this little sports radio. I've had it for about six weeks now. I bought this to replace my Colby sports radio because I like listening to the radio while running (no more Colby Co.). It uses rechargeable batteries. It picks up all AM and FM stations and stays on the channel. It was a bit awkward at first because it was oriented across my arm instead of lengthwise, but I quickly got used to it. The headphones that came with it were too big to stay in my ears while running, so I switched to headphones from an old radio. The instructions for setting up the preset stations seemed a bit superficial to me, but I figured it out quickly. This radio is water and sweat resistant and like the Colby I expect the contacts in the battery compartment to corrode and rust after a few years. On Colby, one of the (-) spring contacts rusted and broke after 2.5 years, but all contacts were corroded. South LA has long, hot, humid, and sweaty summers, so I think it's lasted long enough for the price, and I think it's here, too.

Pros
  • PORTABLE: clock and AM/FM radio with digital PLL tuning.
Cons
  • Weak dial
