I needed 3 HDMI monitors for audio in my recording studio and this adapter helped. I have a 2013 Mac Pro and while it allows 6 video outputs it's not entirely clear how to do that. and only two HDMI options are listed. I've tried many possible connections, including trying to use Apple Airplay to mirror the cockpit video monitor, but was only able to get very choppy output. I finally found an article online that explains the need for an ACTIVE Mini Display Port (Thunderbolt) to HDMI adapter. The one I've tried using is PASSIVE, which works fine for a second monitor but not a third. You may need to play around with the display setting in System Preferences to get the right mirror configuration for dual monitor video playback. The third desktop appeared as soon as I connected the adapter and HDMI to the computer, so I assume it will work as a standalone (non-mirrored) monitor as well. This is the second plug-in product I own. The first was a USB 3 hub that didn't work with the old Mac I had at the time. But the support I've received from Pluggable has been incredible. They did everything they could to help me get it working. so much so that i decided to keep the hub and use it on another computer! I highly recommend these people and their products!
