Bought and installed on my DSL modem 2 weeks ago. Ground it to the socket on the switch next to the socket. Today I had a power outage for about 5 seconds. When the home accessories were turned back on, the router had no internet. Rebooted several times before realizing the surge protector had bitten the dust. I turned off the surge protector and now the internet works for me, I'll write this one and order another. Too bad I lost it so quickly, but I'm glad I didn't have to change my router! It would be nice to get two defenders!
