They curled up into a ball and were useless almost immediately.

On paper it looked like they could do the job. I put them under each leg of my sofa, on the hardwood floor. The first weekend after installation I pushed the sofa back to sweep and found that two of them were curled into a ball, one was split in half and one was stuck to the floor rather than the sofa. They could not be saved and were thrown in the trash can.
