I tested this amp separately from its target build which is my home flight simulator. I used several MP3 audio files with low frequency effects (LFE) using Buttkicker LFE converter. It turned out to work correctly. However, I expected a little more response from the Buttkicker LFE converter than I felt. So far I haven't had any complaints. When I installed it along with my flight simulator, everything went wrong. These amps are designed to sleep and not turn on their last power amps until they get a trigger or detect some kind of audio input. As soon as I turned on the amp (initially it turns on in sleep mode), my flight simulator control electronics went haywire and showed very high noise. Regardless of whether the amp was in sleep mode or had its final amp stages powered and turned on, my Fight Simulator software's input from my simulator hardware showed a lot of noise and instability. One set of my simulator hardware actually failed completely when this amp was turned on. Thank goodness I was able to calibrate it and it worked great without turning this amp on. Having decided that this amp cannot be used with my Flight Simulator electronics I have requested a Revain return. I returned the amp and bought a Revain "Dayton Audio SA1000 Subwoofer Amplifier". Plug in this new amplifier and everything will work satisfactorily with no electronic noise coming from my electronic equipment running the flight simulator. The entire control electronics of my flight simulator remained calm and stable. My conclusion is that either I had a defective amp, its design is poor, or as a class D amp it naturally has electronic noise. In any case, I felt compelled to describe my experience with this amp in case potential buyers plan to use it with their gaming consoles or systems.
