Review on πŸ₯› Kion Clean Protein: Premium Grass-Fed Whey Isolate Powder – Smooth Vanilla Flavor | 30 Servings by Robert Edmondson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

VERY vanilla (a bit fake). Sugar-free, but the pack does not contain 2.5 grams of carbohydrates.

Ingredients are simple and free of listed* sugars, maltodextrins, artificial flavors and other common contaminants. Unfortunately, the vanilla flavor is a bit over the top, a bit of a fake taste and a reminder that there are probably flavorings not listed that I would rather not consume. "Vanilla Flavored" and do not need to be declared in small enough quantities. This is a whey isolate, not a concentrate, so it should be virtually carbohydrate free and contain pure protein. However, due to the lack of good blending and texture of pure whey isolate As it can be less creamy, substances are usually added to make it more "milky" and palatable (e.g. sunflower lecithin as a flow agent.) There are no carbohydrates on the label of this product, but they are, just in a not very significant one amount. However, if you are adding all the carbs to your day, remember that one serving of this powder contains 2 to 2.5 grams of carbs. (For true devotees who like to religiously stick to 20 grams of carbs per day, 2.5 Gram the difference!) When mixed with ice and cold water, it's quite tasty and you get used to the odd vanilla, but not quite vanilla, taste n pretty quickly and it starts to taste normal (not sure if that's a good thing). The added salt really helps create a milky-creamy flavor when fat isn't present. (I actually add salt to my shakes for that purpose, and it's a bit of a flavor secret if you ever need a touch of creaminess without the extra calories.) This company claims their whey is made from grass-fed cows and contains no hormones. You get 30 servings per pack and each serving contains 24.4 grams, of which 23.3 grams is protein.
