Will last a tank war, not meant to be a cooler either. There is no temperature control, it just connects in sequence. It is a very quiet, durable and smooth-running fan. I put it on a stream of water to cool the water in a goldfish/koi aquarium. The only problem I have is that it doesn't fit the rim of the tank like I was hoping. But I put it above the filter flow and lower it back down and everything seems fine. With this fan, the 100-gallon tank dropped 10 degrees. Very good product, it would be better if it really matched the tank.
