Review on Large Capacity Wall Media Storage Rack in Black by Prepac by Paul Barnes

While I love these shelves, I LOVE knowing that the individual shelves are not flush with the back wall. There is a gap of about 1 inch between the shelf and the back wall. It doesn't matter if you only use it for DVDs, but it's a problem for me. Also, if you're wall-mounting, the shelves must be black underneath as well. Instead, they are black on the top and front, while the bottom is natural wood lacquered. It looks awful so I had to paint all the undersides of the shelves. IF YOU BUY MORE THAN ONE: Another reviewer mentioned this but I didn't see it until it was too late, but if you buy several of these to place next to each other they won't sit exactly flush with each other. There is about 1/8 inch protrusion at the bottom of each side but no protrusion at the top. So if you plan on hanging them side by side on the wall, make sure you take your measurements from BELOW and not the top. The packaging was very good. I ordered 3 units and no part was lost or damaged. My husband decided to use his own screws instead of the ones provided. Otherwise, we found the instructions fairly easy to follow. He's usually pretty picky about the strength of things, but he's comfortable with the included wall supports. I might add a few more decorative brackets to the bottom just for extra security.
