I've never had an infrared thermometer before so I wasn't sure what to expect from this one but I can tell you it's better than I thought it would be. After trying it on (literally) everything in our house, I was very impressed with how easy it was to use and how accurate it was for everything I tested. It's small enough to hold easily and is really light, which is great. But it also works at the push of a button. You literally point to the object whose temperature you want to check and press the start button. It fires a laser so you can see where it's about to test, and when you release the button it beeps to let you know the temperature has increased. Then just look at the screen and see what you have. The numbers on the screen are big enough and bright enough for you to read easily, and they display the numbers in either Celsius or Fahrenheit. All you have to do is press a button to switch back and forth. There's another button to turn off the laser if you don't need that instruction, but you still get the same quality of temperature readings. Additionally, the beep is loud enough that you can easily hear it, so you don't have to wonder if it has a reading. Overall I'm really impressed and loving how it works and will be testing it on many other things in our house. (I have to admit, it doesn't hurt that the laser doubles as a fun toy for our cats.)
