Review on Brother TN436BK Super High Yield Toner, Black - Retail Packaging by Eric Weber

I have just received the TN-436BK to install on my Brother HL-L8360CDW. It could not be installed. The photo on the LEFT shows that this version of the TN-436BK has THREE protrusions (above the label showing where to install the cartridge). The central tab rests against the plastic part of the printer body. That looks pretty intentional. The photo on the right is a screenshot of the TN-436BK (old version) product display from the Revain product page. It shows TWO tabs (no middle tab). The two tab option is suitable for the printer. [All starter cartridges have TWO pull tabs. ] The photo on the box of my recently purchased TN-436BK also shows this new THREE reed variant. This indicates that my recently purchased item was not mispackaged or mislabelled. This is a new Brother cartridge. The TN-436BK can be used with a wide range of Brother printers. It seems that Brother redesigned this part and made this new version specifically incompatible with the HL-L8360CDW color laser printer. These new TN-436BK cartridges have THREE tabs and CANNOT be used in HL-L8360CDW.
