Although the lid has a steam vent, this Utopia pot does not have the added safety feature of preventing the contents from spilling over while cooking. My other 2 liter pots from other manufacturers have both a steam outlet in the lid and a rounded edge all around, which effectively prevents the contents from leaking out of the pot. So the pan of Utopia requires the use of lower level content than the others. design difference. And it matters to users.
