It has a very powerful output with four optional nozzles to choose from. Because my birdbath (which came with a solar spray display that died twice) is only 15" ID, I can't use any of the nozzles unless there is no breeze/wind. It's very sensitive to shade. When not within near direct sunlight, it spurts up about 2-3". Using a vertical spray nozzle on a sunny day, the water shoots up about 15" high. Its sensitivity to sunlight is rather amazing. The reason I bought this one is because it comes with little extender arms which easily attach to keep it centered in the bowl. I am so pleased with its performance that I'm now shopping around for a larger birdbath so I can utilize the cool nozzles in a way that the water is not over-spraying out to the ground. Being in SoCal with the mega drought, I'm extremely water conscious. Providing water to thirsty birds without waste, and keeping the water circulating during the day to prevent mosquito issues foremost in my mind. Super pleased with this solar fountain!
