I bought this for Koi pond in October of 2019 because it was so cute. It worked fine in my pond last winter, and I was able to monitor the pond's temperature. I took it out when spring arrived and the pond warmed up, and I put it my other koi supplies/chemicals. I don’t attach the thermometer to the pool. I let them free float. We buy a thermometer every year. This is the first one that I have bought that doesn’t get sucked into the skimmer basket.

This thermometer is accurate and easy to read. So far it is holding up fairly well, but half way through the first summer it is already faded from bright yellow to very pale yellow and the bright orange fin is now barely on the orange side of white. This is a pool thermometer so it should be expected to be floating in, you guessed it, a pool! I am not hopeful for the long term durability of this little fishy.

Keeps accurate temp in the pool but as with all pool temperature items I’ve bought, after a couple months, the string broke. I think this company needs to find a sturdier string.

The pool thermometer is cute but you have to manually submerge it for it to float correctly. It doesn’t just sink properly on its own. If you don’t get the air bubbles out, it will just lay sideways on the water.

This is the worst pool thermometer I've ever bought. It broke a few days after the return window closed. About a month an a day. Do not buy, they usually last at least 6 months. I will amend my review if company will contact me to remedy the problem.

The thermometer does tell the temperature. However, the numbers are very hard to read. They are very small. Without my glasses, I can’t see it. And, I don’t wear my glasses while in the pool.Also, the animal on top of the thermometer is really small. It gets lost in the pool and is difficult to find.I recommend spending more money and get a better one.

Was very cute and accurate for a while. Then one day the bar inside broke loose inside the tube & did not register temperature anymore. Can't put apart to fix. was not dropped or banged or anything. Just floating around in the pool.

My previous temperature gauge came lose after a month. Hard to read temperature. When company saw my review they reached out to me and offered to send me a new gauge.

It does show the surface temperature of my pool but it isn’t very easy to read it. In order for it to correctly gage the temperature you need to let some water enter the tube so that it stays perpendicular, which is a bit annoying. It’s cute and works.

That's pretty much all I have to say. Does the job. My dog thought it was a pool toy for her so she kept trying to retrieve it. We'll see how long it lasts.

I use when I’m sick, cooking a brisket or even just checking the bath water. You know what’s creepy….I fell like it’s always staring at me….where ever I go.

I have to assume it is accurate. This is the only one we have. Definitely had to tie it off to ladder as he kept getting sucked into strainer.

Update: after only 3 months or so, in addition to the problem below, the thermometer tube inside the outer tube became unglued and just flops around inside the clear protective tube, making it worthless. Tube is not broken, just unglued or un-fastened. It was not dropped as it was tied to a nearby air knob and all maintenance is done by one person, so it is a complete fail. A suggestion: in a clean hot tub, chemically balanced and not displaying any sediment, algae, etc., this blue rubber float

Betting an $8 thermometer would work as well as a $25 one, I went cheap. Was not disappointed -- works great, looks cute and it was the cheapest online. At first it appeared it would not right itself to float upright, but it just needed a few minutes to take on water. Yea!

I was happy when I first received this. Then over 6 months time i discovered:a) the string rots in a bromine hot tubb) you can only read the temperature when the water magnifies the blue liquid against the numbers, and that is until the water runs out, then you have to dip the thermometer to refill the tube to read the temp again.c) the blue bulb came un-glued from the number backing, so now the thermometer is useless. Now I have to get a replacement.

Works as intended. Is a little bit harder to read when the water drains out of it, but I usually just put my finger over the hole in the bottom and can read it fine. Should work fine for most back yard pools
