I needed 4 adapters to convert the candelabra style light to our favorite E26 LEDs. It worked out in the end, but there are some significant caveats, hence 3 stars. Pros: * Price Cons * The PBT (plastic) material used for the case starts to soften at around 50-60C (120-140F), so it is not recommended for use in enclosed incandescent or halogen fixtures > 20W recommended. Over time, the material can warp and pose a safety hazard. I'm using 7W LEDs in an open fixture, so it doesn't bother me. If high temperatures can occur, consider using an adapter with a ceramic body.* It is very difficult to screw a standard E26 bulb all the way into the socket. I checked several bulbs from different manufacturers to make sure they weren't my bulbs, but they were all very tight. It takes enough torque to fully seat the bulb that either the mount or the bulb can break, and if you stop where the bulb appears to be inside there is no electrical contact. I think that's why some reviewers say adapters don't really work. A bracket has failed: The E26 socket has become detached from the housing. Since I only needed 4 I didn't return them.* The E12 male threaded component is also very strong. If you try to take out even a little warm one, it's very difficult to unscrew it without removing the E12 metal base from the plastic case.
