Finally! The second display works with my new MacBook Pro!

Well I got my new laptop from work and a big upgrade (YAY). I was given a one year old (latest) MacBook Pro. So I get home and start setting this up at work from my home "office" when I find that it doesn't have a mini display port so I can't connect my second monitor (BOO). . I'm going online looking for this new and super expensive gadget I need to stay efficient (in case my boss reads this) while I'm at work. $60-$80 for an Apple cable. You've lost your mind! So I keep looking and looking and looking and looking and I'm getting more and more frustrated as I read description after description of the adapter that clearly says "this only works for MacBooks older than mine. At this point am willing to go back to work and return the laptop to my bosses when i come across it.the description says it is compatible with 2020 macbook pro version i can't relate to 2020 say me, x*d, and put it in the basket. Less than $20. I think if that doesn't work I might as well return it and try another, more expensive option. a kid on Christmas morning, this morning, my Revain- App updated to see when my potential rescue could be delivered. when HARK. dog starts barking like crazy! SHE ARRIVED! and silently pray to the gods. I load my laptop. Ho hold my breath. Me stretch your hand off and press the power button on the monitor, and then I close my eyes. I open one eye and what do I see? BOTH MONITORS WORK AS THEY SHOULD BE! So if you have a new MacBook Pro and want a second display, buy this cable NOW! No need for a fairly expensive multiport adapter, USB-C (Thunderbolt) plugs directly into your laptop and you're good to go. and I'm sure my better half would love to use her big monitor for something other than a paperweight.
