This exhaust sounds great and is very affordable! I only did a slide exhaust, so I still have stock headers and this big, bulky mid-pipe. I may switch to a different complete exhaust system in the future, but so far this one is great. I didn't use a baffle as I kept the standard mid-pipe and headers. With the deflector, the sound was similar to the normal one. Without the deflector, it wasn't overly loud and sounded pretty vicious. The only problem with this exhaust is that some modifications are required before installation. Right out of the box the exhaust didn't fit my bike (Yamaha MT 10 2021). A local muffler shop had to fabricate a small part so it could connect to the center pipe. The shop used some sort of machine that widened the exhaust inlet so I could slip through the middle pipe. It fit, sealed perfectly with no welding or permanent alterations.
