UPDATE: I’m changing my review from 3 stars to 4 just because I have been very happy with the vent clip. Customer service also contacted me about sending a replacement (adhesive pad) which I appreciated. I might try to mount it to the dashboard again in the future but for right now I’m happy using the vent clip.When I purchased this my plan was to mount it to my dashboard. I cleaned my dashboard, placed the adhesive pad, pushed down on it firmly for several minutes and then left it for 24 hours like the directions said. The next morning I added the suction cup mount. It held my phone for maybe 10 to 15 minutes before falling off. It was the adhesive pad that came off of the dashboard (the suction cup actually works really well. I can’t get it off the adhesive pad lol). Apparently the adhesive pad can only be used once so I guess I won’t be putting it back on. I read a lot of reviews before purchasing this item and the ones I saw didn’t seem to mention the adhesive pad not sticking. Maybe I got a defective one? Or maybe I didn’t put enough pressure on it when I was attaching it to my dashboard. although I’m pretty sure I did!Luckily, it also comes with a vent clip. That’s why I’m giving it three stars. I just used it on a six hour trip and the vent clip stayed in place and securely held my phone. If it wasn’t for having another option I would be very unhappy with my purchase.
