I used two of these timers during Halloween and Christmas (nights) for two years. One of mine broke after all this time so I'm buying a few more to have on hand. They are light. Just plug it into the outlet and when the sensor light comes on, click the number of hours you want the light to stay on. You just have to make sure that the light sensor is not blocked by leaves, lots of plant shadows, etc. With this outlet I always have the most decorated house on my street!
