I connect the tablet directly to the car radio amplifier without a head unit. I added a subwoofer with a built-in amplifier, but the sound wasn't very good. AFTER INSTALLING THIS PREAMP, my cheap setup sounds good. Literally $200 in it and it sounds good and loud. Definitely recommend to friends.
