Size matters - and other benefits of these Fositan LED lights

I know you can get better quality LED panels, be it construction or light quality, but you know what - these lights are worth the money and they are excellent value for money. I also have Falconeyes 18t, another flexible LED panel that has great reviews, but these Fositan lights have some really nice features that may not be obvious to you. First, the Fositan lights are attached to a frame (very light and composed of sections that snap together). The advantage of this is that the diffuser is on the opposite side of the frame than the LED panel, leaving a small gap of around 15mm between them. While this isn't much, it's enough to soften the light (Falconeyes has a diffuser versus the LED bulbs, and the diffusion isn't as effective). Also note that the power supply box for Fositan is small compared to Hawkeye's. The Fositan adapter is like a laptop charger, while the Falconeyes has one big power box and another big dimmer box, all of which seems completely unnecessary. Fositan sounds cheap rolled up, but what matters is the use of light. . And light is only effective when you use it. And here comes the final benefit. Fositan fits in a very small case. Falconeyes aren't nearly as compact by comparison - partly because of the electrics, but also because they have an X-shaped design to keep them stretched, but they only fold but remain long, making packing difficult . In comparison, Fositan packs very little, which can make a difference whether you take it or not. I recently filmed several video interviews at a conference. I wasn't planning on making video, so I packed the bare essentials in my "just in case" bag, which for me included two Fositan flashlights, a couple of cameras, a Rode VideoMicPro, and a Zoom recorder with a Lav microphone included . . . How glad I was to have light in my trunk! Within five minutes I had the lights assembled and mounted on a flipchart stand (I didn't have any light stands with me) and was good to go. The interviews came out surprisingly well - some of the natural light available was used and two lights were used to add a bit of key and kick to the shots. Bottom line - if you're a pro with money, you'll still check out Westcotts. If you're semi-professional and on a budget, take a look. At that price you can buy two or three Fositans at Westcott prices and for me the quality and flexibility of additional lights outweighs the light quality benefits as they are not critical to me. I am currently looking for a pair of 3090s but they are harder to find.
