I have a very unhappy review. Our sweet Labrador puppy Ryder died from a strangulation injury wearing this collar. When she played outside with her dog, her collar would become disgustingly tight and her brain would lack oxygen for minutes. At this point, blood and fluid filled her lungs and she choked internally. My mom found her and took her to the vet in the ER, where I paid $2,300 for 48 hours of intensive care, which consisted essentially of lying in an oxygen chamber in hopes that her brain and lungs would heal on their own; because the vet couldn't do anything. Unfortunately, our sweet friend passed away less than 24 hours later. I had never heard of this, so I didn't understand the importance of the tear-off feature on the collar buckle. I will never again put a collar on a dog (except for a walk when your eyes are always on the dog) that doesn't have a breakaway function.
