EDIT: Company contacted and full refund offered! It was very nice of them. Now I can find a quieter rectifier. I honestly didn't expect the melody/melody/sound to be so loud. It's penetrating. I get ready in the morning and do my hair in my room that I share with my partner and she wakes him up every day since I've had her. I'm willing to pry it open with a tiny screwdriver and fiddle with the innards to turn the sound off. The reviewers here think it's cute, for me it made me mad every morning. It beeps every time you change the temperature. Worst of all, when you turn it off, it plays a DIFFERENT tune that sounds like a dying little animal. When I was done, I unplugged the power cord. The rest works great. Heats up quickly, looks good, serves its purpose.
