This was a very simple attachment to the outside of my crank but ended up with the wrong chain. I even have a short bottom bracket to fit the new ring. With some modification I was able to install the ring on the inside of the crankset's center position, but this required a significant amount of filing of the metal of my crankset. I got it working for my setup, but I'm not used to hacking/making things that shouldn't work. Check your connecting rod to see if there are burrs in the outermost attachment point that are different in size from the outermost attachment point. . If so, you may need to write them down if you want a good chain.
