I have important social information about this product. I was hesitant to purchase this product because some of the lower star reviews said it wasn't as loud as they expected. Then other reviews said it was very noisy. I found the missing link! Your immediate human reaction when you turn off the alarm is to hold the alarm away from your head and towards the ground. It's just human instinct that we don't want an alarm clock ringing next to our ear. However, I had the same feeling the first few times I checked the alarm that it wasn't loud enough. This morning I tested it for the last time and this time I held the device up with the alarm and it made a HUGE difference in volume! My son said below that his ear hurts. That's exactly what we want! Hold the alarm up or point it at an intruder and the sound is VERY deterrent! I hope this has helped you in your purchase decision. I know it's hard to choose a brand.
