Really very strong and quite heavy. One thing I want to think about is that I'm using this shelf for two modems, so there are a couple of cables coming out the back of those units. From there, the cables hang from the back of the shelf and go where they need to go. However, there is a slightly sharp metal edge on the back of this rack where the cables rest. It's not "sharp", just a thin piece of metal pointing straight up. For people who really care about their cords, they might want to consider something else before using this shelf. Otherwise this item is great!
