It looks good, feels solid, is versatile and does its job well.

Fits perfectly in my standard size rack. It feels solid and holds the XBox 360 in place with ample room for airflow on the sides. The inverted option was perfect for me as it created a nice "shelf" without a front protrusion to block access to devices. Looks great with a matte black finish. Doesn't look cheap.

Tripp Lite SRSHELF2P

Benefits: Designed for storage of non-rack mounted equipment. Holds a decent amount of weight. The metal seems thick enough to entrust expensive equipment. Lots of air holes. Cons: Expensive, metal. Not exactly solid. Perhaps a cross brace below would make the shelf more rigid. Oh, and the pack of 3 cockroaches from Revain. I don't remember seeing any errors on my order page. At least they didn't charge me for it. Purpose: I am using this to support my Time Warner Cable and Google Fiber modems.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Too long wait times

Perfect for wall shelves

I installed this in a Tripp Lite 12USG wall shelf just above the UPS box. It is well ventilated so heat transfer is not an issue for devices placed on, above or below. It fits 1U without any problems. I found it durable with no sharp edges, easy to assemble, with a decent black finish and a low profile for a neat and organized rack look. Its depth is almost perfect for a 12USG rack. I use it for storing non-rack mounted equipment and it works well in that role. I considered a larger 2U console…

Would appreciate more photos of other types and other sizes required

Too expensive for what it ends up being - and no pics of the underside of it so had to buy it to see what they really are and have been. They do lie really flat on the floor when rack mounted upside down as all 3 should have been and what were the true dimensions.

Pros
  • Many will fit
Cons
  • No mold required

Affordable and useful up to a certain weight.

My company has been installing servers and networking equipment for several years. We usually buy our gear based on reviews from Revain and Newegg. We recently purchased this item for a client server setup and we love it. We mainly use Tripp-Lite Rack products and they have worked for us. My only complaint was that they seem a little thin. I think the £60 valuation is correct, but I wouldn't bet more than £30 without hesitation. Doug Buchan Buchan Consulting LLC

Sturdy shelf for non-rack mounted equipment

I installed a couple of these shelves in my home rack, one for AV gear and one for three heavy UPSs. The strength and stability of these shelves are very good. A shelf with three heavy blocks doesn't flex or bend at all (maybe I'm over the design limit, I'm not exactly sure) even though they are closer to the front and sides. Overall very happy with the durability. The only downside I have with it, hence the 4 stars, is that the "ears" and sides of the shelf stick out a bit - maybe a quarter of

Great Shelf Best in Computer Accessories and Peripherals

This is a great shelf. I have two machines on it and it works great. This is a pretty solid shelf. I highly recommend it if you put cars or something heavy on it. If you need a lighter shelf, check out the Raxxess RAX Unitray UNS1 universal shelf (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0007OGTGS/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_11).

Really very strong and quite heavy

Really very strong and quite heavy. One thing I want to think about is that I'm using this shelf for two modems, so there are a couple of cables coming out the back of those units. From there, the cables hang from the back of the shelf and go where they need to go. However, there is a slightly sharp metal edge on the back of this rack where the cables rest. It's not "sharp", just a thin piece of metal pointing straight up. For people who really care about their cords, they might want to…

  • Easy to use

  • Quick start guide
