I'm allergic to many earwires, so I haven't worn earrings for several years. When I decided to make some earrings I specifically wanted 925 sterling silver hooks because sometimes I am allergic to 925 sterling silver but not 925 sterling silver. I like the little decorative ball on the hook - although other earrings have balls in the same place, these look unique. However, these earrings are so incredibly thin that they bend like crazy. I can't even put them back on because they are so thin. If you don't care about having a back, then maybe that's not a problem for you, but I like to put my back on mine. They also flexed badly when I tried to attach the hook to the earring embellishment. Another problem is that according to the description they should be stamped with 925, I can't find the stamp anywhere. They are enough for 5 pairs of earrings. I thought it would be nice to make a pair for myself and sell a few, but without that 925 hallmark I would have a hard time convincing anyone that these are actually 925 sterling silver earrings. Which brings me to another point. Are those really 925 sterling silver earrings? They came from China and the seller put a label at customs saying the cost was $1. I realized that people who lie about little things will lie about everything. So if the seller lied about the customs form, it makes sense that they lied about other things as well. Is it really 925 sterling silver? Are they galvanized? It doesn't matter - it's a flimsy product and I won't be using it again.
