Beautiful TV, dead pixels or dust particles

This is a great TV. DSE is almost invisible. I swear the picture is better than my Q90R. But my device had a dead pixel about an inch below the center of the screen. I replaced it and had about a week of bliss until the replacement suddenly sprouted a dead pixel. At least not in the middle. Today I discovered that a dead pixel is actually just a speck of dust or some other type of dirt partially blocking 4 pixels on my panel. I moved it by pressing the screen, but it only went down about 12 inches and blocked another 4 pixels closer to the center of my panel (or another blob appeared). Unfortunately I couldn't move it anymore. I found this out by zooming my phone to 10x and looking at individual pixels: the defect disappears at an angle, meaning the pixels themselves aren't stuck or dead. persistent), all had at least one broken pixel (well, a speck of dust), some had more than a dozen. This is unacceptable for TVs over $1000. I think it's a production issue, like a clean room that isn't clean, or I'm just really unlucky. 6/4/2020 - Tried the third Q90T direct from Samsung. 3 dust particles on it blocking about 12 pixels. After 9 sets I don't think it's just bad luck - something is wrong with Samsung's manufacturing process. I wonder if other people get broken TVs?

Pros
  • QUANTUM HDR 16X: A wider range of brightness and colors combined for a strikingly vivid cinematic image.
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
