I really wanted to like this soldering iron but it just didn't work properly. The biggest feature, the automatic solder feeder, feeds well but doesn't stay in line. Maybe if you use thicker solder but the one that comes with the kit doesn't come straight out of the nozzle. works at all. Finally, half the time it didn't heat up enough. I struggled with the same solder joint for almost 5 minutes and it almost hit the mark, but not quite. Then, after turning it off and on again and fiddling with it, it quickly got warm. Maybe I have a defective pistol? In the end, I couldn't bear to constantly deform the gun to try to get the heated tip and solder in the right place.
