I started using this on my Acer B6 Series B286HK (running 4k) and then gradually started having problems. The monitor turns on and off for about 5 seconds every 5-7 minutes. I didn't think it was the cable as I had just bought the monitor off ebay. I just reconciled myself and resigned myself to having a defective monitor. Then one day I couldn't take it anymore. I did a little research and found that CHEAP displayport cables usually have this type of defect. I switched DP cables from my second 4k monitor (unknown brand) and was able to run the monitor for HOURS with no issues. I'm returning this cable and spending a little more money for a decent one. I learned my lesson and I hope this review will save you from having to learn it too.
